Dear Parent or Guardian,
The Irvine Unified School District will once again require residency verification for all IUSD students enrolling for the 2017-18 school year. This process is an annual legal requirement in California and it helps our district ensure that all available resources are spent efficiently and effectively to the benefit of our Irvine families. Moreover, these additional steps will help provide a full and precise accounting of our student population as we review staffing for the coming year.
By completing the following forms for each of your students, you will be making a formal declaration that your child lives within IUSD’s attendance boundaries.
The items required are 1) a COPY of the Driver’s License (any state photo driver’s license or CA ID card is permitted) of the parent or guardian, 2) two copies of current proofs of residency (within the last 45 days) and 3) the Residency Verification form (see the link above). Also, hard copies are available at the Administration Office upon request. Please make sure all portions are complete. If parents have joint custody only one parent needs to prove residency.
Please note that for the electric, gas, water, cable and/or waste management bill, we ask that you send both parts, the top portion of the bill as well as the remittance portion of the bill. This shows the mailing address as well as the address at which service is being provided. See sample bills by clicking here. Duplicate bills can be requested from all utility services within IUSD boundaries if needed.
Students or parents must bring all three of the items requested to the Counseling Office by April 28, 2017 to ensure continuation of enrollment for the 2017/2018 school year. Counseling Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Partial residency verification will not be accepted. Current 12th grade students do not need to complete residency verification.
